RANDOM CONVERSATIONS WITH BOSS #2987 #2988 & #2989
Usually there are seven of us in the office. This afternoon there was m'boss and m'self.
....we don't often chat...
Boss: (breaks the silence) So how does the weather compare to South Africa or Australia (has he forgotten where I'm from?)
Me: Mmmmm - not as cold as England, typically. (Not a revalation.)
(I moved from SA 13 years ago.)
Coversation Ends
Boss: (cuts through the silence again - a record) Did you ever see a snake in South Africa
Me: Yeeeeeeeeeeeees. Many times. They were often about the house.
Boss: In the Garden?
Me: Yes, and in the house.
Boss: But they weren't poisonous?
Me: Ummm - yes. They were.
Boss: And what did you do with them if they were in the house?
Me: Kill them.
Coversation Ends
Me: (well, we were on a roll) ...and Monkeys too
Boss: Monkeys!
Me: Yes. In the garden and sometimes in the house.
Boss: But no dangerous animals then?
Me: Apart from the monkeys and deadly poisonous snakes? No.
Coversation Ends
Aikona! Wat kan ek se!
